Custom picture framing at its best is a successful combination of art or artifact with good design and appropriate conservation quality materials. The success of this process depends heavily on three things:

  • The sensitivity of the framing consultant to the relationship between the art, the frame and the eventual location of the completed project.
  • The willingness of the customer to interact with the design/framing process.
  • The quality and range of the selection of framing materials

Perhaps the most important facet of custom framing is the design process… the distance between your art and your wall. Brian Gordy, founder of Gordy Fine Art & Framing Company, brings years of experience as an interior design professional and a student of art & frame history to the design table.

“Our customer need only bring his/her art to our showroom. We will work with that customer to determine some parameters, then make suggestions based on the balance between those guidelines and the aesthetic relationships necessary to bring the best out of the artwork. The end result will be an integrated design relationship that brings together your art and your interior."
