Carol Strock Wasson
Carol Strock Wasson is devoted to plein air painting and is focused on painting with spontaneity and freshness. Working primarily with pastels she paints layer upon layer, juxtaposing colors to build a feeling of atmosphere and excitement of color. Her paintings often reflect her frequent trips with the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association and her work at Wasson Nursery, the family landscape and greenhouse business. Her dedication is evident in awards and entry into prestigious shows across the country. Paintings by Carol Strock Wasson have been exhibited in shows with the Pastel Society of America, Pastel Society of the West Coast, and the Pastel Society of north Florida. She has exhibited several times at the Hoosier Salon and Indiana Heritage Arts.
My goal as an artist is twofold, to capture the effects of light and atmosphere on the ever changing landscape and also to capture the attentions of the viewers, inviting them into the painting to see, feel, and experience what I have.
